Hace unos días, una estimada amiga planteó en una de sus publicaciones de facebook una pregunta muy interesante: ¿cuál fue el libro que hizo que te enamoraras de la lectura?
Para contestar esa pregunta, hice un viaje al pasado y llegué al año 1970 en mi escuela primaria Dr. José María Luis Mora, en el Barrio del Zapote, en Celaya.
—A ver niños —parece que escucho a mi maestra— abran su libro de lectura.
Ella, con su libro abierto, tenía la práctica de elegir a uno de los alumnos para que leyera en voz alta. Ese día me eligió a mí.
—Olalde, por favor ponte de pie y lee en voz alta.
Me levanté de mi mesabanco y empecé a leer:
—“Todas las tardes, al volver del colegio, tenían los niños la costumbre de ir a jugar al jardín del gigante…”
Sí, mi libro de lecturas y específicamente el cuento titulado: “El Gigante Egoísta” del escritor irlandés Oscar Wilde, fue el libro que hizo que me enamorara de la lectura.
Después de haber leído ese cuento, ya nadie me pudo parar.
